American Muslims to McCain: don’t call terrorism “Islamic”

This is absolutely idiotic and pathetic:

WaTi reports

A coalition of American Muslim groups is demanding that Sen. John McCain stop using the adjective “Islamic” to describe terrorists and extremist enemies of the United States.

Muneer Fareed, who heads the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), told The Washington Times that his group is beginning a campaign to persuade Mr. McCain to rephrase his descriptions of the enemy.

“We’ve tried to contact his office, contact his spokesperson to have them rethink word usage that is more acceptable to the Muslim community,” Mr. Fareed said. “If it’s not our intent to paint everyone with the same brush, then certainly we should think seriously about just characterizing them as criminals, because that is what they are.”

So what is he supposed to do now? Call terrorism “Asian youth terrorism”?

An aide to Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee who is counting on his pro-Iraq war stance to attract conservative voters, said the senator from Arizona will not drop the word.

Steve Schmidt, a former Bush White House aide who is now a McCain media strategist, told The Times that the use of the word is appropriate and that the candidate will continue to define the enemy that way.

“Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda represent a perverted strain of Islam at odds with the great many peaceful Muslims who practice their great faith peacefully,” Mr. Schmidt said. “But the reality is, the hateful ideology which underpins bin Ladenism is properly described as radical Islamic extremism. Senator McCain refers to it that way because that is what it is.”

I have an idea. Let’s call Islamic terrorism a “Non-Jewish Non-Christian Non-Buddhist Non-Hindu Non-Pagan terrorism” - NoJNoCNoBNoHNoPT kind of thing…how about that? “The NoJNoCNoBNoHNoP terrorists blew up a car in the middle of the market in Baghdad”? Or maybe, “The terrorists who belong to religion, representatives of which in the United States have demanded not to mention its name, fired rockets on the southern Israeli town on the border with Gaza”…

But no matter how hard the American Muslims try to deny the reality, there is this saying: it walks like a duck, it looks like a duck…you know the rest.

Iran gets slapped by Afghanistan

Last week Iranian president - a crazed thin-bearded pokemon ahmadinejad - declared that Iran is the most powerful and independent nation:

“Iran is the most powerful and independent nation in the world,” Ahmadinejad told a military parade outside Tehran marking the Islamic republic’s annual army day.

Ahmadinejad said all the branches of the armed forces would react forcefully in response to any attack against Iran’s soil and boasted that no-one would dare to launch a strike on the country.

“The army, the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij (militia) will resist with force and coordination and respond strongly to the slightest aggression,” he said

Respond stronly to the slightest aggression…how about that. Apparently these declarations don’t make much impression on the neighboring Afghanistan

Afghan police clashed with Iranian forces at the southwestern border between the two countries, leaving one civilian dead and two Iranian officers wounded, officials said Sunday.

The incident in the village of Pul-e-Abreshum in Nimroz province happened Saturday after an Iranian patrol entered Afghanistan, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

Afghan police dispatched a unit to the village and a gunbattle ensued. A teacher from the village was killed during the firefight, said provincial police chief Gen. Ayub Badakhshi.

Two Iranian officers were wounded, the statement said.

The long and porous border between the two countries is used by smugglers to traffic drugs into Iran. Many Afghans also cross illegally into Iran from the area. Border clashes are common.

Hmm…I guess Afghans haven’t heard of the brave pokemon ahmadinajad and his bravest mightiest army, or maybe they have, only that they know exactly what this army is all about.

Hizballah attacks and kidnaps Lebanese police officer after a warm reception at the French embassy

In the world of international diplomacy it is generally normal when the parties smile and shake hands, while plotting against each other. But there is a limit to how liberal and outreaching certain diplomatic policies should get, especially when they approach the point of blatant disregard for the basic rules of diplomatic engagement.

France has always been on the forefront of appeasement, bowing down to every scanky terrorist in attempt to talk him into negotiations.

The recent spit in the face was delivered to France by Hizballah, when after having coffee and croissants at the French embassy in Beirut, this Iranian shia puppet terrorist organization attacked a police station in the capital and kidnapped a police officer.

Lebanese news portal “Ya Libnan” reports that this is a second attack on the governmental institution in the last days

Thursday, 17 April, 2008
On Wednesday Hezbollah forcefully freed two suspicious detainees, by surrounding the police with a mob of 100 angry Hezbollah forces, threatening to attack the policemen unless the two bearded men were immediately released.

The sources said the police officer was investigating an illegal construction site in the suburb of Ghadir when he was beaten up by two local residents.

Hizbullah members drove in, kidnapped the officer and whisked him to a Hizbullah office where he was illegally interrogated by Party officials on activities of the police force.

The officer told his superiors later Hizbullah officials set him free only because he is Shiite.

Thus, it is not a sectarian attack, it is an open attack on the government of Lebanon - the same government France (and the rest of EU) and US so thoroughly back!

Ironically, after the meeting at the French embassy, Hizbullah representative Nawaf Moussawi said:

(he) held “lengthy talks with the charge d’affaires that covered the Lebanese crisis … and reviewed domestic and external initiatives aimed at finding consensus settlements.”

Moussawi also said he clarified to the French official “the importance of the resistance’s role in the liberation and defense (process).”

And they clarified it a couple of days later alright.

France should realize that its influence on “Hizbullah” is zero. As long as Iran stands behind this terrorist organization, there is nothing the West can do, except holding mock negotiations and hosting these terrorists for croissants, while they’re going to continue to run a country within a country and prevent Lebanon from finally reaching its full independence of Syria and negotiating with Israel.

Boycott and Aid – Statistics of Hypocrisy

Organizing a boycott is a tricky thing. Unless it is initiated by the government, the level of the masses’ discipline must be very high for the boycott to become effective. Or…the hatred of someone or something must be so strong that it splashes over the board onto the streets, shuts down the individual “civilize me” (if there was any to begin with) and results in the freak show that is concentrated on the performance of hate, rather than on what has led to it. That is the face of the hatred by the masses, and it will always remain so, at least in the eyes of the “Western” observer.

The West has a general tendency for compassion. The West has a general tendency for setting a political pace in the world and dictating its will as well. One of the ugliest abominations that these two tendencies have produced is aid – ineffective and in some cases counterproductive policy of the West vs the developing nations.

Aid is meant to help the suffering, to improve the receiver’s living conditions, and to win hearts. But as well as attempting to win hearts, aid is often being used as a tool of political pressure, depending on how much of the receivers’ budget is built on aid. The donors may (and sometimes do) threaten to freeze or withdraw their aid if some local policies aren’t adjusted to their liking. An ugly and hypocrite practice by itself, it receives the very same ugly and hypocrite reaction from the donors.

One of latest examples of how ineffective and hypocrite aid policies are shown to us by the courtesy of some Muslim nations.

The movie “Fitna”, produced by the Dutch MP Geert Wilders, quoting the violent messages from Quran and demonstrating how Muslims implement them in the modern times - word by word - has created another uproar (after the one over Danish Cartoons of Muhammad) in the Muslim world. The masses in the Muslim world have taken their outrage to the streets, and as usual, demonstrated how peaceful and tolerant to criticism Islam is by calling to kill Geert Wilders. Some Muslim leaders, and namely from Sudan, Afghanistan, Jordan, Indonesia and Pakistan have called for the boycott of Dutch goods. A call to boycott the goods of a trade partner is, in effect, a call for suspension of trade. It is, of course, their prerogative. But surprisingly (or maybe not so much so), none of these leaders called for suspension of Dutch aid. According to OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development), Holland is among top 10 donors to Afghanistan, Indonesia and Sudan, whose public and leaders call to boycott Dutch goods, while these countries are among top 10 receivers of Dutch aid. Here are the numbers

Source: OECD, World Bank

In general, Netherlands pledges approximately $US5.5 Billion in aid; $US484 Million goes to the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. Certainly, a responsible government could find a better use to half a billion of the US dollars – a better geographical distribution to those who actually make use of it to develop bilateral relations and understanding, which is currently not the case, at least on the part of the Muslim world.

I am not sure that the Afghan and Sudanese youth know that the schools they’re going to are partially built on the Dutch money – namely because their government never bothered telling them about it - but burning an effigy of the Dutch MP, calling for his death and the next morning going back to that school is an international policy abomination of the worse kind.

The citizens of the Netherlands, UK and USA – all among top donors to, and among most hated countries in the Muslim world – must question their governments on how well their money is used in the corners of the world where hatred to the West is injected with mother’s milk.

The West MUST reconsider its aid policy altogether and thoroughly reform it. In case of the Netherlands, I doubt it can be used as a pressure leverage tool on the governments of Sudan, Afghanistan and others. Winning hearts, it certainly does not.

UAE bans popular video game

UAE - United Arab Emirates - an oil rich country, built on the Western money (keep pumping that gas, folks), runs on the Western brains (hoards of expats working in key managerial positions in oil and financial industries of UAE), bans a popular Sony PS game “God of War”

Sharjah: Sharjah municipality has launched a crackdown against the distribution of a controversial video game which has been banned.

Several residents complained about the game as it contains material offensive to religion, values and social norms.

The 18-rated video game God of War is based on Greek mythology that encourages players to kill different “gods” to reach the next level of the game. It contained sexual scenes.

A UAE national said he was one of the people who was shocked to discover that the game was distributed in commercial areas, including the Central Souq, Al Rolla and sports shops in Nuammiya.

“I knew that it was banned, but many of my friends were able to buy pirated copies from Dh5 to Dh10. I was shocked to see how much it contradicted Islamic values,” said Khalid Bin Deemas, adding that it was dangerous as the video game was popular among children.

So, blond Western expatriates who run this country, making it suitable for 21st century, drinking alcohol in practically every hotel of Dubai, do not contradict Islamic values, and video game does? Besides, since when violence contradicts these values anyway? I think it’s very much in tune with them.

Hamas: Carter promotes our legitimacy

Not that Jimmy “Dhimmi” Carter ever denied it, but it was clear that if his recent visit to the Middle East does anything, it is helping the terrorists.

From the horse’s mouth:

CAIRO, Egypt - Hamas officials said Wednesday that Jimmy Carter’s meetings with leaders of the Palestinian militant group will boost its legitimacy despite criticism by Israel and the U.S. government of the former president’s personal peace mission.

Heading the Hamas delegation in Cairo were Gaza leaders Mahmoud Zahar and Said Siyam. “This meeting is a message to those who don’t recognize Hamas’ legitimacy as a movement,” Zahar said as he left for Egypt, according to Hamas’ Web site.

In Cairo, Hamas spokesman Taher Nuhu told The Associated Press that the purported Thursday meeting would be “a recognition of the legitimacy” of Hamas’ victory in the Palestinians’ parliamentary election in 2006

Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) - the chief of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank - refuses to hold talks with Hamas, unless they return the control of Gaza to him and his forces.

So which majority should we believe to? The one that elected Hamas to Parliament and thus supported its chapter to never recognize Israel and to continue its terrorist actions against the Jewish state and its citizens, or the one that elected Abu Mazen the President of PA, who is in favor of negotiations and reaching agreement with Israel? Looks like Jimmy Dhimmi Carter made his choice. And you can trust this silly, naive old man that his choices are the wrong ones, just like in the past when the Islamic revolution in Iran took place while he was the President of the US

But Dhimmi Jimmy doesn’t really care. He’s on the mission to legitimize the hard core terrorists.

Even Hussein Obama (in a desperate need of the Jewish vote) finally criticized him:

“We must not negotiate with a terrorist group intent on Israel’s destruction,” Obama said.

“We should only sit down with Hamas if they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements,” he added.

Does Dhimmi Jimmy care? You know the answer. He’s on the mission…

Indonesia to ban peaceful Muslim movement

Ahmadi Muslims - a community of tens of millions of followers residing in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and some countries in West Africa - are under threat of finding themselves banned from practicing their faith in Indonesia.

As usual, in the strife between the followers of the moderate versions of Islam (like Suffism and Ahmadi) and the extremists, the latter win.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — A government team has recommended that Indonesia outlaw a Muslim sect that has come under attack from hard-liners as heretical, angering human rights activists who accuse authorities of cowing to pressure from extremists.
The Ahmadi movement has faced bans and persecution in Muslim countries around the world for its belief in another prophet after Muhammad. The group insists it should be considered part of Islam.

A government team of prosecutors, religious scholars and home affairs department officials concluded that the sect “had deviated from Islamic principles” and recommended Wednesday that the government ban it.

“Their activities are causing unrest among Muslims,” team leader Wishnu Subroto said Thursday.

The government was to meet Thursday to discuss the recommendation, media reports said. The team recommended Ahmadi followers be charged with “insulting a religion” — a charge that carries a five-year jail term.

Ahmadi Muslim community in Indonesia consists of 200 000 followers.

Notably, one of the core principles of Ahmadi Islam is a complete rejection of violence. Ahmadi Muslims believe that hatred is answered by love and when someone attacks, the ultimate reaction to it is love. This, according to the government of Indonesia, is causing unrest among other Muslims and thus justifies charging the Ahmadi Muslims with “insulting a religion”. Preaching love and peace is insult to Islam.

Hard-liners have led an increasingly vocal campaign against Ahmadi in recent years, often vandalizing its mosques and the homes of its followers. In many cases, police made no attempt to stop the attackers.

“We are the victims here, yet we are being banned,” Yan Hussein Lamardi, a lawyer for the group, told Koran Tempo newspaper.

The Ahmadi sect is believed to have around 200,000 followers in Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation. It was founded at the end of the 19th century in Pakistan where it is banned.

Banned in Pakistan…to be banned in Indonesia…oh well, I guess can’t really blame the extremist minority now and claim that the majority of Muslims are peaceful or tolerant.
