The Pearls Of Multiculturalism

The way EU governments are embracing the immigration and trumpeting about the benefits of multiculturalism sometimes leads to unexpected consequences, flashing the reality right in the face of “we’re_all_humans_and_why_can’t_we_all_live_in_peace” loonies.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks in central Brussels have been canceled due to a continuing terror threat in the Belgian capital, officials said Sunday.
The popular downtown Christmas market will close early, at 6 p.m., on Dec. 31 rather than staying open all night, and the adjacent skating rink will shut at 8 p.m.
I bet this makes the Belgians extremely “happy”.
So where does it lead?
First, the citizens of EU have to settle for their skyline, when minarets begin mixing with and topping the traditional views of churches and skyscrapers (something that Switzerland and only Switzerland has dealt successfully with by introducing a new law that forbids the construction of minarets in the country). Then, some schools in the UK rename or abandon the “Three Little Pigs” story to avoid offending the Muslims, while some schools in Italy succumb to the demands of the Muslim pupils and their parents, and took down the crosses from the walls.
I wonder what was done in the Muslim countries in attempt not to offend the feelings of Christian minorities (where such exist at all)?
I don’t know about the people of Belgium, but here in Israel, while living under constant threat of terror attack, we realized that we simply cannot and must not stop our regular way of life and let these servants of satan disrupt it. If we do, they win. Therefore, we go to schools, we celebrate our holidays; our malls, restaurants, coffee shops and nightclubs are packed with people and it will continue to be so, no matter what some Islamofascist says, plans or does.
But hey, Happy New Year, Brussels! Allahu akbar and all that.
I hope next year and the years after it will still be legal to wish the citizens of EU a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Who knows, the legislators might forbid it to avoid hurting the feelings of you_know_who.
