Report: Islamic Iran might approve Chris de Burgh concert in Tehran
Tehran - Islamic Iran might for the first time approve a concert of a Western pop artist in Tehran, the weekly magazine 40- Cheraq reported in its latest issue published Tuesday. The music department of the Culture Ministry, which is in charge of issuing permission for music releases and concerts, has principally approved the presence of Irish pop singer Chris de Burgh in Tehran and is currently evaluating a date and venue for a concert.
The Irishman and the Iranian band Arian recorded the song A Melody for Peace, which is supposed to reflect the “peace-loving Iranian spirit to the people of the world,” according to the Iranian press.
Wonderful!
Remember the times of apartheid in South Africa? Remember the concert in Sun City that was boycotted by so many musicians? Remember the slander that was received by the band “Status Quo” for performing there despite the calls for boycott?
I wonder if someone is going to give Chris de Burgh the same attitude, but I shouldn’t hold my breath, should I?
I think Chris de Burgh is a definite candidate for the “Dhimmi Of The Year” award in music.

RIYADH, Nov 25, 2007 (AFP) - Saudi Arabia, waging a crackdown on Islamist militants, has released 1,500 extremists after they repented, a newspaper said on Sunday.
The 1,500 were among 3,200 militants with whom a government-appointed “advice committee” met around 5,000 times since it was formed three years ago, Al-Watan said, quoting committee member Mohammad al-Nujaimi.
The paper did not clarify if the rest had refused to renounce the ideology of “takfeer” — branding other Muslims as infidels in order to legitimise violence against them.
The ideology is espoused by militants who advocate the use of force to overthrow regimes deemed corrupt or unrepresentative and to establish a global Islamic state.
Nujaimi said the 1,500 militants who changed their views had renounced Saudi-born Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden’s call on his followers to “cleanse the Arabian Peninsula of polytheists.”
The advice committee comprises more than 100 Islamic scholars, preachers and experts in sharia, or Islamic law, in addition to 30 psychologists and social workers, the paper said.
Saudi Arabia has waged a relentless crackdown on suspected Al-Qaeda militants since they launched a spate of bombings and shootings in the oil-rich kingdom in May 2003.
Changed their views? Renounced bin Laden? That’s right, I guess we have their word on it.
So what are they going to do now? Join “Peace Corps” or “Code Pink”?

Responding to Iran, Hamas.
As I continue my work to improve and develop this website, I decided to issue my communiques to two terrorist organizations – Revolutionary Guards in Iran, and Hamas in Syria and Gaza – in response to their latest statements.
Every time they try to act intimidating and brave in the media, I cannot help it but laugh.
Here is the statement made by the chief of the Revolutionary Guards in Iran last Friday:
Revolutionary Guards chief: Iran will launch tsunamis against enemies
The chief of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards on Friday warned that if the nation’s enemies continued plotting against it, they would launch a tidal wave of resistance.
Gen. Mohammed Ali Jafari spoke on the anniversary of the founding of the Basij paramilitary force and during a particularly tense period of relations between Iran and the West, largely due to the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
“The ocean of the Iranian nation may sometimes look calm but if it becomes stormy it will create tsunamis,” he told worshippers before a Friday prayer ceremony on the Teheran University campus
And to this I say:
Bring it on. Israel got Gold Medal in sailing in 2004 Olympics. Sailing and swimming are among our most achieving sports. We’re always first to make it to the shore. And oh, the last Tsunami I remember (in 2004) killed approximately 300 thousand Muslims.

As we remember very well, every time we gave weapons to these “security forces”, we got them either turned against us, or handed to HAMAS.

It is known that these weapons will not be directed to the occupation. It will be directed to the sons of the Palestinian people. In anywhere in the world, the land occupier provide military aids, arms and armored vehicles to the occupied people?!, unless among the occupied people a traitors, who give their loyalty to their enemy.

1. We consider that Abbas services in the West Bank are part of the “Shabak” and traitors. We call our people to deal with them on this basis, and taking all the necessary security prudence.
2. We call our people in the West Bank to withdraw their children from these devices.
3. We are confirming that this round will fail. The Zionist enemy and its allies in Ramallah will regret.
4. We call the resistance to escalate its actions against the occupation to dispel enemy dreams of security and stability under the protection of his loyal friends in the Ramallah.

You lied it wrong again. These cars are not armored. This is my toy cars that I parked in my house and was thefted by the traiting Abbas forces last night, because my alarm refused to work, because it was scared of mighty Palestinian fighters who sneaked into my backyard and thefted my cars.
The cars are made of plastic and was meanted to be give to befriended Palestinian childrens and kids as a gift.
I ask you very humbfully and seriously: please don’t take these cars from Abbas, because our police cannot find them if you burn them. Thank you for let me know that the cars are in Ramallah. Now I know where they are and I will be calling Fatah to ask to return them to me so that I give it to Palestinian children and kids for present, because it’s not fair if Fatah say, “We give them as present”
Consequently I am confirming the following:
1. The cars are not bad, they are for toys for befriended Palestinian childrens and kids
2. Abbas thefts are not fair
3. I must change my security alarm
4. Please be fair!

Most Indonesians support the enactment of sharia bylaws even though they know ordinances already in place in several regencies have failed to improve social welfare, a survey has found.“People’s welfare remains the same as it was before the sharia bylaws were enforced,” said the survey report.
So let me rephrase it: “we are poor, we are failed and we are loving it!”
The survey involved 1,000 respondents including 200 non-Muslims and showed 44.5 percent of Muslims said the bylaws did not improve the economy of regional populations, as it had been intended to.
“In Bireun, the tourist sector has been drastically declining after the local authorities enforced canning punishments for adultery and alcoholism,” CSRC researcher Syukran Kamil said.
I guess those infidels don’t want to have fun without the alcohol and…you know…
However, the ordinances received the support of 94.7 percent of respondents, who said they believed said bylaws were needed as a “way-out” from the numerous problems facing the nation.
Support also came from almost half (46 percent) of non-Muslim respondents
“The main reason for their approval is because (Muslim and non-Muslim) respondents said they believed sharia is part of a religious duty,” Syukran said.
That’s right! This is why you are such an advanced, modern and prosperous community.
I am sorry to say this, but now I know why they are poor and failed. It’s because they are dumb!
Muslims in general would say “yes” if asked whether they agreed sharia should be enforced in the country, Azyumardi said.
But he said if respondents had been asked specific questions, including if they would support hudud (harsh Islamic criminal law), which is part of sharia, “their answers would be totally different”.
Oh I get it…Sharia “light”, huh? But I guess I can interpret their answer as “kill them first, sort them out later”

The survey also found Indonesian non-Muslims are more tolerant than Muslims.
Most Muslim respondents would reject churches and other un-Islamic places of worships built in their neighborhood and refused to send their children to non-Muslim schools.
But most non-Muslim respondents were found to have no problem with the establishment of mosques at their doorstep.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — An Egyptian college student arrested after authorities said they found explosive chemicals in his car made a video suggesting that “martyrdom” can be avoided by using remote-controlled explosives, authorities said.

A court filing released earlier this week provided new details about the video, which is a key piece of evidence in the case against University of South Florida student Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed. He faces federal explosives charges.
Mohamed said in his video that instead of carrying out “martyrdom operations,” people can use the remote-controlled explosives and save themselves for the real battles, according to prosecutors.Mohamed and fellow USF student Youssef Samir Megahed were pulled over by police in August for a traffic stop in Goose Creek, S.C., about 15 miles northwest of Charleston and near a Navy weapons station.
Officers found explosives in their car and a laptop belonging to Mohamed that contained the video he made that demonstrates how to convert a remote-control toy car into a detonator for bombs, the FBI said.
The laptop was used to upload the video onto YouTube, the court filing said, and it contained a record of an e-mail sent to YouTube in July asking why the submitted video hadn’t been posted on the Web site.
Why the video hadn’t been posted? Sue YouTube for racial and religious discrimination!

A folder labeled “Bomb Shock” in Mohamed’s laptop contained files about ingredients for explosives, according to the filing by Assistant United States Attorney Jay Hoffer in Tampa.

El Baradei to defend Iran at IAEA meet
Vienna: The UN nuclear watchdog chief is set to urge full backing for an Iran transparency plan at an agency governors meeting on Thursday after Western powers said Tehran must do more to allay fears about its atomic agenda.
Whether a new International Atomic Energy Agency report on Iran’s compliance with a pledge to clarify past secret nuclear work to the IAEA is cause for new hope or further skepticism will be debated by the agency’s 35-nation Board of Governors.
It will be a matter of interpretation. Western board members will dwell on Iran’s defiant campaign to enrich uranium despite the transparency plan, diplomats said, while developing nations will highlight Iranian steps towards openness and warn against rising Western pressure they feel could undo the process.
It doesn’t take much to understand that Iran is doing its best to stretch the time line granted to them by the UN and IAEA to comply by these agencies demands. Frankly speaking, Iranians are not too sophisticated at their attempts. Moreover, they declare of “no compromise” over their attempts to acquire the nuclear capabilities.
El Baradei is not an idiot. And since he’s not such, I guess it is safe to assume that he’s simply turning a blind eye in the best case, and in the worst case intentionally assisting Iran in its attempts to get the nukes.
IAEA chief Mohamed El Baradei, concerned by US-led criticism of the plan’s limitations and resolve to isolate Iran with harsher sanctions, is likely to stress the plan is on track and warrants full support, a UN official said.
“He’s likely to say that whatever the imperfections, the plan is proceeding according to schedule and the timeline to resolve outstanding questions by around the end of the year remains realistic,” the official told Reuters.
What schedule? Extended of the extended of the extended one? Is it going to be extended again?
He said Iran had provided more information in two months, clarifying how it obtained whatever it needed to build enrichment centrifuges from a black market run by the father of Pakistan’s atom bomb, than it had in two years of stonewalling.
The IAEA report said Iran was still preventing inspector movements aimed at checking the nature and scope of its current enrichment-related activity.

Cairo, Egypt (AHN) - Iran has announced it is willing to begin nuclear cooperation with Egypt, head of Iran’s Interest Section in Egypt Vafa Bassim, said in the North African nation. Egypt, which attempted to develop a nuclear program decades ago is once again going forward on the project.
Now guess where Mohamed el Baradei is from…That’s right! Egypt!
Wouldn’t it be a conflict of interest if this man stays as the head of IAEA?

I have always thought that Muslim women are far braver, for better or worse, than their males.
Despite the attempts of the male Muslim society to overdress and oppress their women into complete submission as the Islamic law Sharia requires, they come out stronger, braver and ready to confront the injustice and cruelty inflicted upon them by their males. And please, bear the difference. There are men, and there are males.
AFP - Divorce in Egypt every six minutes
A couple files for divorce every six minutes in Egypt, with a third of marriages breaking up in the first year, the press reported on Tuesday quoting the state-run statistics bureau.
Courts across Egypt rule on 240 divorces each day, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).
In most cases men take the initiative to file for divorce since under Muslim sharia law they are allowed to seek unrestricted legal separation from their spouses while women must face long court procedures.
In line with sharia, men do not need to go to court to file for divorce and can take up to four wives.
Egypt, home to 76 million people, now has 2.5 million divorced women.
